Okay so, there is this new writer in town, fancies himself a poet and gets cranky when folks call him Eddie. Of course he lacks a certain talent but to give him credit, he keeps plugging along. At my Author Alley “Let the Games Begin” presentation at this year’s Malice Domestic, in order to help out this impoverished poet, one of the games we played was MadLibs, in the hope we could make one of his poems more interesting. May I present for your reading pleasure:
The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe and the Malice Domestics.
Once upon a midnight MYSTERIOUS, while I pondered weak and GLOOMY,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten CHEESEBURGERS,
While I BLOGGED, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of PRINCE WILLIAM gently rapping, rapping at my KITCHEN door.
`’Tis some visitor,’ I muttered, `tapping at my KITCHEN door -
Only this, and nothing more.’
Better, right?
Terrie
