Planning To Write

snoopyOver in the book section of the Huffington Post, M. Shannon Hernandez knows that “there are plenty of ways that you can get yourself prepared for the New Year, as a writer, author, and/or blogger.”

She is very sure about this because she circulated three writerly questions among her social network contacts:

  • “How are you getting yourself in tip-top writing mode for the New Year?”
  • “What is on your must-finish-up-so-you-can-start-afresh list?”
  • “What tips/strategies/ideas would you include on a list about getting ready for writing in the New Year?”

Shannon was surprised that she got quite a lot of responses, so she put together a nifty list of 50 Ways Writers Can Prepare For the New Year. You may click here to see the entire list but for now I will tell you that #1 is “Buy a new notebook” and #50 is “Set writing goals for 2014.”

As for the other 48, I can only tell you that I have completed #19 “Get your receipts and write-off lists together and have them ready for tax season.” And #20 “Start planning which events and trade-shows you want to go to next year.”

I am considering #48 “Update your Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn files.” Although for me that would translate to finally opening a Twitter account and taking the time to find the password to my Pinterest account.

So if you are curious about which numbers on the list might be of use to you—just follow the link.
