Here it is a large wall map of Fort Myers Beach which is made up of Estero Island and San Carlos Island. The big black “you are here” marker sits on Bowditch Point Park. The tip of Bowditch is in brackish water where the fresh water of San Carlos Bay meets the salt water of the Gulf of Mexico.
In my WIP, a character is attacked at Bowditch. I know, I know, it is too lovely and serene a place for mayhem, but I do write fiction, after all.
And here is the clock that gives Times Square, Fort Myers Beach it’s name. It is a great public gathering place with lots of shops and a drop dead gorgeous view of the Gulf of Mexico. Sometimes my characters go to Times Square for ice cream. Wouldn’t you?
And if a character was strolling along the beach and crossed under the public pier, who knows what conversations might be overheard? Just saying. . .
