I’m sure that you are all familiar with Mystery Readers International. If not here is an excerpt from their website:
MRI is the largest mystery fan/reader organization in the world, is open to all readers, fans, critics, editors, publishers, and writers. Started by Janet A. Rudolph in Berkeley, California, it now has members in all 50 of the United States and 18 foreign countries.
Membership is inexpensive. Of course the organization is also well known because its members nominate and vote to select each year’s winners of the Macavity Award.
Well I am honored to announce that I have an Author! Author! piece in the current issue of the Mystery Readers Journal (Volume 30:3) which is a Bibliomysteries issue. Right there on page 47 I talk about all the book related fun that goes on in the Read ‘Em and Eat Café, Fort Myers Beach, Florida. I talk about book clubs, tables dedicated to specific authors and food named after an author or a story. Since this particular edition is still for sale I can’t give you a link to my article titled, “Look, There Are Books in My Book.” But I can tell you it gives readers a close look at Well Read, Then Dead the first book in the Read ‘Em and Eat series.
And you, dear author, do you have a book that you think the members of Mystery Readers International would enjoy reading? Well click through to the submissions link to discover how to submit for the upcoming themes which include: Scandinavian Mysteries; Murder on the Menu; Forensic Sleuths; Scotland; and New York.
Give it a shot. It’s fun and it may expand your reader base.
Terrie
